Updates

Guess what...

I got the job!!!

I'm going to be waitressing which I think will be really fun. This should also give me time to work on my artwork which is a major plus. Right now I'm just not a nine to five kind of gal.

Thank you thank you to all of you who were so positive and encouraging during this rough time. I was really feeling low but there was always someone with a kind word that brought me right back up. That is why I love the blog community.

And now I want to welcome a new friend to this community. My friend Rachael is doing a month-long residency in Italy. Lucky girl, right? She is documenting her experience on her blog called Loose Tooth Studio. Rachael makes beautiful art and I know she is going to make some exciting stuff while she's there. I mean, she gets to sit at this enormous table under those crazy cocoons. How could you not be inspired?! Follow along on Rachael's journey here.

Monday Monday

By the end of this week I will have the keys to this adorable house. My boyfriend and I are moving in and I can't wait. I'm looking forward to decorating a new place. On the second floor there is a loft and that is going to be my new studio space. I'm hoping the new space will offer new inspirations. I've been in a bit of a studio rut which I think is to be expected after a thesis show. I need new surroundings and motivation. I'm also going to take part in Janel's (Run With Scissors) journal challenge. I think it will help a lot with getting me out of my artistic block.
No new news about jobs. Wha whaaaaa! I had that interview the other night and still haven't heard anything. I'm still keeping my fingers and toes crossed, however, and am keeping my eyes peeled for a four leaf clover.
Today I rode my bike to my studio and I have to admit it's the first time I've done it since last summer. I'm just not in biking shape yet. It was a nice leisurely ride but when I went to leave I had a flat tire. / : I walked home instead and that was nice, too. I saw an ice cream truck playing gospel songs. Random.
See you tomorrow!

I think it's Wednesday

It's Wednesday right? Memorial day has thrown me off. Happy Wednesday!
I've been working on some stuff in my studio that I'm really excited about. Meanwhile I've been updating my shop with some neat vintage finds. See them here.
Thursday evening I have a job interview. Cross your fingers for me please please! I never realized how much not having a job can affect your self esteem. Yesterday I drove around collecting applications and listened to dozens of people tell me they aren't hiring. It was like trying on a bunch of great clothes only to realize nothing fits. But! I'm very hopeful about my interview and keep my spirits high. And staying excited about what's happening in my studio. More info on that to come. What are you doing with your summer time? Tell me stories....
