Tomorrow I'm going to Texas. One of my good friends, Rachael, is getting married and I have the honor of standing by her during the ceremony. I am so excited to be reunited with all my gal pals.  I'm such a girlfriend kind of girl so having them all so far away is hard.  It's going to be a fun and sweet weekend. I hope your weekend is just as sweet! I'll see you when I get back!

A Little Catch-up Ketchup

Y'all, I feel like I have been doing so much and at the same time I feel like I have been doing nothing.  I hate how long it takes to do internet things like edit pictures and load them to my shop.  I spent the whole night doing it! Of course I took bunny petting breaks so that slowed things down a little. My husband is teaching me how to edit photos so I think they are getting better but could still use an extra set of eyes to make sure the color isn't too wonky.  I wish I could pay someone to do my internetting for me.  I would write this blog and read other blogs and keep a keen eye on pinterest but my future fantasy computer tech could do all the rest, including check in with facebook. I swear I'm almost ready to give it up.  Do I really need to spend an hour looking at a stranger's birthday pictures for their dog from three years ago?  Yesterday I did something right... I set my phone on the other side of the room and relied on pure laziness to keep me from retrieving it.  So when I was working on garlands and watching a movie I wasn't able to say... "hey, that guy's in this movie, what else has he been in lately?" Believe me I wanted to look so bad but... laziness won and I continued to work.

Here is what I've been doing.

I got to make my first custom banner this week! This was a fun process and I learned a lot about working with a client.  I am excited with how it turned out and can't wait to see it hanging in the nursery!

 I have been taking photos lately to document my ever changing wall.  Yesterday I cleared my wall for my photo shoot so I thought I would take a pic of my table instead. It is covered in crafty goodies!

I have an inspiration starting point for my next treasury. I have been wanting to use this painting by my friend Julie for a while now.  It's taken me a bit to figure out what the theme will be but I think I'm ready to make it. Julie is a peach and has lots of beautiful work in her shop.

Progress

Arrow Garlands!

I have been holed up in my studio turning my arrows into wall hangings and watching too many true crime shows. I am super pleased with how these turned out.  I made all these arrows last Fall and even though I loved them as they were I have been spending all this time trying to figure out a way to use them beyond just being an arrow.  I have a million more to go but I ran out of letters.  Or at least letters that would spell out sweet words. If I wanted a garland that said Rum Star I could make that happen.

Once I did what I could do with the arrows I started on my animal mask project. I thought these would be a fun thing to sell at the barn sale coming up. I'm excited to see how these turn out.

Snow Day

I had an unexpected snow day from work today so I have spent most of the day working on yarn pom poms but I also took a break to curate another treasury. I get addicted to making these. This one is called neon and once again I'm dreaming of spring. Click the image to see a larger image.

Yesterday I got a sweet message from my friend Julie informing me that I had been included in her party themed Etsy treasury.  I was excited to my latest banner in such good company.

I haven't made a treasury in forever so this inspired me to put my own collection together. I swear I spent at least an hour trying to decide what the them would be. I went through so many Etsy pics and found so many new favorite products. Ultimately I settled on Floral Crowns with a few feathers and lace for good measure. I am so ready for Spring and these pics put me in the mood.

By the end of the night I was happily informed that I had been included in another treasury, this one also Spring themed.

Yesterday I was sipping iced coffee and feeling like warm weather was just around the corner and today my coffee is hot and I am glumly watching the latest snow storm hit. What a difference a day makes. At least we can all pretend it's Spring with treasuries.

New Things Happenings

I've been thinking a lot about making some changes around here.  I always view this blog as a place where I have to write a lot and the writing part is what causes me to procrastinate.  I'm going to start focusing on making this a more playful and hopefully inspiring space because that is also what I am doing in my real life.  I'm working a lot and the ideas are churning and I'm excited about the future and for the first time in a long time I feel like my goals are very tangible.  I hope you like my new banner and I hope it's indicative and things to come!

In the last post I said I would do a tutorial on backing a window with fabric.  Once I looked at my three photos I realized... probably no tutorial neccesary. Cut, Iron, Staple. But for posterity reasons I thought it would be nice to document. Humor me. ( :
