Southern Graphics Hits Chicago

I'm Back! Remember Me? I've been a crazy busy mess lately but I'm ready to return to blogging and the internet world. Last week I was in Chicago for a printmaking conference. It was so much fun and I got to see so many people. There were friends there from all over the world. My hotel room represented South Carolina, Kentucky, Texas and California! SGC is like one big family reunion. I was sad to leave on Saturday but I did feel very motivated to get in the studio. I saw so much amazing art while I was there.
I was incredibly lucky to be part of a couple of shows at Happy Dog Gallery in Wicker Park. Thursday night was the Grudge Match between Dirty Printmakers of America and the Bastards of Print Society. I had a few pieces hanging in that show. Friday night was Ladies Night and I have to say the ladies of printmaking represented. I feel honored to be part of an amazing group of people.
The picture above is the gallery where we had our shows. Every night turned into a dance party. The picture with chairs was taken outside the gallery. I love this picture. I think it was the only quiet moment during the whole trip.
This was a yummy yummy breakfast I had one morning. After eating nothing but bar food most of the time it was refreshing to have fruit and yogurt all served in a pineapple bowl. A girl nearby our table ordered this and when she got it she took a picture of it and my friend and I said she was probably going to blog about it. haha. And now i'm doing the same!

And I stole this picture from my friend Rachael. Her caption said we just found out we won a basket of kittens. That's my print professor in the background. He must hate kittens!

Finally, here's one of the walls in the Ladie's Night show. Can you pick out my work? Look closely!

I hope I haven't lost too many readers in my hiatus. I'm very ready to get back into the wild world of blogging!

Wow, that looks like so much fun!!! I need to go to some kind of conference too. I missed you and was just about to file a missing person report or send you an e-mail.

That chair photo would make a beautiful drawn illustration...

Speaking of - could you draw me a pink ghost ACEO? If not, don't worry, I have my eye on something else in your shop.
