Yesterday I had one of those days in the studio where everything was going so well. It started with a critique of my work with my good friend Anna who was nice enough to stop by and give me feedback. It's a little nerve-wracking to have people look at my work because I feel like I'm kind of venturing into new territory that may either be loved or hated. Each time someone looks at my work I hold my breath a little. It's hard for me to see the work outside of my own eyes. Does that make sense? But the feedback I've been receiving has been very helpful.
I spent all afternoon working and listening to my two favorite podcasts: The Savage Lovecast and This American Life. If you haven't checked out either I suggest you do. Warning, the Savage Lovecast can be pretty explicit... but if you like Dan Savage you will like this. Listen at your own risk.
I think I've shown this piece on here before but here's a better photo of it.
This piece is almost finished, I'm just trying to figure out how to really bring it to a close. Anna gave me some great ideas so I will be finishing it very soon. Remember you can click on the images to see them larger.
This detail is very yellow. I thought I fixed it in the editing but I must not have gotten it right. Try to imagine it less yellow....
This one is a little closer to being finished. I just want to do some more sewing on it and then I think it might be done. What do you think?
Again, bleh! Yellowy detail...
Thanks for looking! More updates soon!
